    Brief Description

    On December 10th 2014, the „Valmi“ olive oil producers organized the Terra Madre Day, an event held annually during the past 5 years. The housewives of F.B.E. (Agricultural Federation of Elbasan) cooked different traditional dishes which then were tasted by the invitees. Within the frame of another project that F.B.E. Association implements, a group of women has been created in order to work for strengthening the cooking traditions between the youngsters. It was this group of women which prepared the delicious traditional dishes of Elbasan region for this event. Also, the administrator of F.B.E. Mr. Dhimitër Piligriu held a speech regarding the importance of conserving the food traditions and local techniques. He talked about the principles of Slow Food and ESSEDRA project and invited the participants to reflect upon the Ark of Taste products. The invitees were mostly members of other NGOs operating in Elbasan region, NGOs from Pogradec and Korça regions with whom F.B.E. collaborates, students pertaining to local ecological clubs, local authorities, etc. The activity was accompanied by good folk music of Elbasan region.
