Brief Description

On the 27th and 28th November, on the occasion of the Albanian Declaration of Independence, several Albanian producers and small enterprises have been invited to take part to the fair “Buy Albanian” in Pristina, Kosovo organized by the Albanian Ministry for Economic Development, in collaboration with the Albanian National Centre for Fairs, the Municipality of Pristina and the Republic of Kosovo.
The aim of the fair was to promote Albanian products in Albania and Kosovo and to strengthen the network among producers by offering also new market opportunities.
Also the products supported by VIS Albania in the framework of the ESSEDRA project were present thanks to the participation of the local consortia always involved in these activities: Fryma e Kelmendit and Reçi Prodhimtar. The products present were mainly cheeses, raki, wine, dried blueberries, blueberries and grapes jam, honey, cornelian cherries and blueberries liqueur and pomegranate juice.
For 2 days, without consideration of the cold and the rain, 5 representatives of these consortia and VIS Albania promoted these traditional and biological products and the activities of Slow Food in Albania.
This was the first time the producers could open to the Kosovo market and the warm and positive welcome received by the public gave them for sure a stronger incentive to keep on investing on these quality productions. In fact, already during the morning of the 2nd day of fair, all the products brought were sold and still the curiosity and attention for the information material like “The wheel of season” and “When you shop, use your head” kept the stand lively and visited.
The entire fair was then accompanied by traditional dance and music, showing how food is always a moment of sharing and fun.
